Podimo stands out as the only commercial platform that pays for content, which is available for free on other platforms. After you claim your podcast on Podimo, you’ll receive a competitive flat rate (CPM, which means cost per mille or cost per thousand) for every stream your show generates on the Podimo platform.
The Streaming model: The streaming model is based on a fixed CPM rate (cost per mille / price per 1000 streams). For every 1000 premium streams (a paying user listening for more than 60 seconds - max. 1 stream per episode per day), you receive a fixed rate.
Example of CPM calculation: Example: If your podcast gets 4500 streams and the CPM in your market is €35, the calculation looks like this: 4500 × (35 / 1000) = €157.50
However, there’s also a cap in place to ensure that Podimo never pays out more to a podcast than what can realistically come from a user’s subscription.
The cap is calculated based on how much of the total listening time on Podimo comes from your podcast. Each paying user essentially “distributes” their subscription fee across all the content they listen to during that period.
Formula: Payout cap per user = Subscription Revenue × 50% × (Your podcast’s listening time / Total listening time) This means that even if the CPM calculation gives a higher amount, your final payout cannot exceed the cap.
